Was going through my warehouse and discovered I still have THREE TWO ONE unit of

571786 - ETS 150/3

10% OFF ends April 30!!  Get in touch to place your order!

- The Full Story -

The ETS 150/3 (571786) that we know and love has been discontinued and replaced by, yup, ETS 150/3 (571903) that we still know and love.

So what's the difference?

The backing pad which comes with the sander.

571903 comes with a Fusion-TEC Pad, originally released in Europe alongside the LEX 3 Air Sanders.  Since the LEX 3 runs at higher RPMs than the LEX 2, the sander required a stiffer and more temperature tolerant backing pad to combat vibration deflection and heat fatigue.  Since the ETS 150/3 is unchanged motor-side, in short, you end up with a more technologically advanced backing pad.  Whether a Fusion-TEC Pad is worth 10% is up to you  ::)

Final unit of ETS 150/3 still elegible for 10% off guys!  Ending tomorrow, Wednesday, April 30!!

Guys,

I would buy this one if, I already didn't own it.  Great deal on a super sander!

I believe the ETS 150/5, the CT MIDI/MINI and the T15/T18 models with the 3.0 batteries were included in this sale.

Is that true?  If so, I assume those items also go off sale at the end of the day today as well, correct?

I'm pretty sure that Festool allows the dealer to determine if and at what percentage they discount discontinued tools. So I'm assuming this is just one dealers way to motivate buyers and clear inventory. Of course I could be wrong, but I've never heard of discontinued items going back up to full price before.

Partially correct.  The official Closeout Sale will be over today, but as woodie has noted, after a tool/item earns a categorization of "Discontinued", Festool allows dealers to discount however appropriate, at the dealer's cost.  Up until end of day today, April 30, Festool, protecting dealers, has offered to pick up the 10% tab so dealers don't take the hit.  Apologies for being unclear.

Previous "Closeout" items which will become "Discontinued" include:

583376  CT Midi (no T-Loc)
583360  CT Mini (no T-Loc)
571794  ETS 150/5 (no Fusion-TEC pad)
571786  ETS 150/3 (no Fusion-TEC pad)
564385  T15+3 Li (3.0ah)
564389  T15+3 Li Set (3.0ah)
564393  T18+3 Li (3.0ah)
564397  T18+3 Li Set (3.0ah)
564291  TI 15 Li Plus (3.0ah)
564358  TI 15 Li Basic

I have a 150/5 that I use for final sanding on furniture.  Would the 150/3 give a noticeably better finish with the finer grits?

IMHO, I think so since I can see some swirls at higher grits even with my 150/3 on harder woods.
