Sanders.....

Hello everyone, just recently trying to add one more sander(I know, again) to my collection. I am hobby woodworker just dining some jobs around the house.
I have ets ec 125 and RTSC400, kind of lack of triangle one.
So questions comes, should I get Ro90 or DTSC400?

I own the RO90. Having both a triangle and a small disc is a big advantage for me. It has surprised me how often I use the RO90 disc. Very handy.

Agreed totally. The RO90 was the first Festool sander that I bought. It seems to give the most versatile performance with a huge variety of things. You get the aggressive removal of the RO, the small size of the pad itself, the ability to polish with the RO mode, corner sanding ability of the Delta pad and "normal" dual action type sanding.

I’ll add being a homeowner with massive demands and a hobby woodworker torn between must-do and nice-to-do I find the RO 90 to be essential. As a home owner even more, since it’s so versatile. I’ve had it between my knees using it as a mobile disk sander for small parts even.

Working with what I can do during winter, this window frame needed flattening and part paint removal before installing an inner window that would do machine sanding even worse.
The whole sanding process was done in a few minutes, first in aggressive mode then in RO mode.
I didn’t use the delta pad much at all since the small disc with the edge protector got me so close to the corners and left very little so I did quick hand sanding and got finished in no time.
A “big” 125 sander which is almost standard as a consumer sander would not have reached all these places, there just isnt space. And with only RO mode and not rotation mode it would have taken even more time. Almost zero dust hooked on to a CT.. a joy!

All finished in 120 grit and ready to paint when spring arrives.

And I have the RTSC 400 too. And I use it a lot, almost anything that needs prep for paint or finishing. I don’t find it boring as some do. It can reach into most corners, edges, rebates and so forth, even on open flat surfaces it’s great. A keeper.

The DTS400 is also a great sander. It’s just an RTS 400 in a delta configuration. Also, if you can find a used DX93 it is a great Festool sander that has been discontinued for a number of years. I really love mine. It uses the same triangular sandpaper as the RO 90.
