Good Day:

I have started building the 38 cherry, flat panel doors and drawers for my kitchen and was looking for some tips on sanding the edges of the doors.  I have been doing this by hand but this takes a while.  I have an ETS 150, RO 150 & RTS 400.

Thanks for your time,

Michael

Hi,

Barring getting the LS130.

Put the hard sanding pad on the ETS150 along with stiff paper like Rubin. Clamp the door  horizontally to a bench with the edge sticking out. Then hold the sander against it , position yourself in line with the sander so that you can see that you have perpendicular contact. Draw the sander along it towards you.  I use the ETS150 with this method most often to sand edges. Even though I own and use the LS130 for many things I actually prefer the above method.

Assuming you are doing square edges not profiled edges. For profiled edges get the LS130.

Seth's method will work well or you could use your RTS for the edges.  I actually prefer an orbital sander for narrow edges as I find it easier to keep the pad square to the surface.  RO sanders I find easier to tip or the motion can push the pad off the edge easier.
