Here is a quick video of the RS2E in action -- nothing great, but you can see how smooth and easy it is to control this sander and also get a sense as to how quickly I move it over the work.  I showed how I could control it just by holding onto the dust extraction port or with one hand letting it float over the work.  I was sanding the bottom of a Birds-Eye Maple desktop when I took this and I believe I was using 120 grit Rubin.  I always draw pencil lines across my work, especially at the edges and corners, so that I can keep track of where I have been and when I am done with a particular grit.  It works well.  The top planks (before trimming to size and square) was about 68 inches by 33 inches and it took me about 10 minutes to completely sand a side with one grit.  I also was able to sand the entire thing with one piece of paper.  The suction on my CT22 was turned slightly less than 1/2 way and I was sanding on speed 6.

Scot,
Nice top....That sander looks like it would be a nice addition to my arsenal.

Thanks!  This is the bottom side of the top -- the topside does not have any of the dark wood and it uniform in color...the light was not as good when I sanded the top so I decided not to use that video clip.

LOL...this CAN limit or negate the need for a wide-belt sander so you can rationalize it that way -- less space and less cost!  [tongue]
