Wow Nice! Very Nice! How did you do all the motor and mechanism on that door? I see it opens up another door in the back! AND the bottom section moves back first I assume this holds up the shelve above and when it moves back the shelves drops down just with gravity?
What I would like to know is how the top part moves after. I'm assuming the motor is attached to the bottom and pulls the bottom sections once it goes so far back it pulls to top but it cant be that simple as the top section would rattle as it would have to be loose and because when it closes it closes first so kinda want to know how you have that setup to work.
Thank you!
JMB you've got it ,, that's basically how it works. the bottom door has the actuator attached to it , there is wedges on the underside of the top as the door moves back
the front of the top drops down so i could keep the joint as tight as i could , it then picks the top door up, i offset the hinge line as the doors are two different lengths, but i wanted them to be inline when the door was in the open position, it needed to finish tight to the frame on the other door frame too,it all works really smoothly too,, there is not much to see on the back of the door but i will take a photo.
i have attached one of the back of the tv doors and the guide , I epoxy glue some brass plate to a piece of sapele before i routered the groves for the guides , then turned some top hat bushes to run in the grove , I made the rest of the linkage out of aluminum and made nylon bushes for the slides, i have fitted the actuators on them today but the guy who is sort the electrics out has not done it yet so i can't show them running yet

i
the grilles came today for the radiator covers so that's another job done and i fitted the false shelves on the door and trimmed out inside the TV space just the cables to sort out in there now

As for the crown mould i ran it all on my CMS i used axminster power tools cornice cutter, I don't rate there own brand at all but i was really please with this cutter

I'm really lucky in the fact that guy who it is for is a really good mate of mine, I have done work for him over the last 8 years or so and for the past 5 years i have worked on mainly his house Fullltime [eek] I have hardly done any other work in that time !i never have to price anything , i just charge him a hourly rate, it doesn't matter how long it takes, but i have done a lot of work to it in that time
I've hit a brick wall with picking a handle for the job so if anyone has a link or any ideas i would appreciate it
and thanks all for looking and your comments
p.s tim i love the fuji
