Hello colleagues!

This is my project – Sawtainer. I based on Festool systainer system idea.

I need a portable but powerful and full features tool for my small garage and maybe for some remote job.

A few points:

He is moving way to fast on rips of the small pieces.
The blade is set too high for plywood rips.
The fence is way to short. It barely makes it beyond the back side of the blade.

All that said it's definitely cool and with some minor improvements it will be a great alternative to toting a tablesaw around.

Kudos for the ingenuity and creativity, but it makes me very nervous. I would never make something like that or use something like it. It also appears very fiddly to set up.

Big fat F for practicality, when a decent Dewalt small contractor saw costs so little and can be setup and have made the cut before you're even 1/4 of the way through setting this up.

Because I don't like standard contractor saw conception. Especially cause they hasn't good miter guide

This is a small blade. When I take big one - I have reach - 84mm.

About short back side I agree, need to make some additional support. Some folding plank or something like

  Folks , Please look at where people live and realize that everyone doesn't have equal access to the multiple websites , stores , vendors , 48 hour delivery service, not to mention the cold hard cash required . Does Dewalt small contractor saw have sliding table? A true one (not CMS-like add on) that goes right next to the blade? I thought so.
Obviously this is a work in progress and a proof of concept. Lots of things could be streamlined, such as using knobs instead of screws and screwdriver, etc.
IMHO this is one of the best home made compact saws I've seen.

In Europe saw fences typically don't go past the blade to avoid trapping the material. Particularly on sliding saws. This is standard practice.
Although I myself prefer long fence.

Yes, you are right. It is concept and it still very raw. But I already see some points to improve.
