I just called OSHA.  I am assurred I could laugh at that one.  They read the consent from page 2347.paragraph .08936

Years ago a fellow made and sold a TS55 insert for the MFT table. Many Foggers did not treat that fellow very well. I raised issues about liability, but came within a few seconds once of buying one. I think I backed off more from a hassle issue on the website than the product itself. When I tried again later, it was no longer available.

Most  of the comments from the US noted that they would prefer to wait for Festool to introduce the official CMS insert. Some of them have bought privately imported inserts. The rest are still waiting.

Amazing attention to detail. I would improve the parts you have to screw and unscrew to something better suited to repeated use. I don't see anything more unsafe than the cms

Very well done! Love the ingenuity of the set-up and ,as you're aware of the shortcomings (lack of a riving knife, hood), see no problem in using it. Very dobry!

Nice project and well done!

From a safety standpoint: A switch that won't lead to the machine starting in case it is plugged in while in 'on' position is adviseable. Apart from that it dosn't look that much more dangerous than a CMS with the TS75.

Another vote for riving knife / splitter. It does not have to be attached to the saw motor unit. You can bolt it to that tilting plywood part of the housing from inside.

I think what you are demonstrating here is actually dangerous. I would hate it if somebody tried to copy what you are doing and had an accident.

I am not criticising your ingenuity, but I do think what you are doing is quite dangerous regardless of how much care you take. This time you didn't even extend the feet on your base and I could system the setup moving. Not cool [sad]

I saw it shaking when ripping the thicker stock and thought it wouldn't take much of a kickback event to send the whole thing tumbling over. This whole idea really is fixing something that ain't broken, given the number of small saw options available on the market.

I watched the entire series and marveled at his ingenuity.  I won't be recreating his inventions, but I LOVED watching how he built every piece by hand.  The sawtainer isn't fixing intended to fix something broken - it seemed to be more of an expression of creativity, which I applaud heartily.
