Search indexes corrupt?

When I try to do a search, I'm only getting articles from 2007 and 2008 returned and "sort by date" doesn't seem to be working at all.

Is it just me, or is there a problem with the FOG search indexes?

It has been working like that for quite some time.

I just restrict using the date from-to as a pseudo sort.

Gallery still not fixed for quite some time too.

Experimented a little more.

Seems to be that despite the number of "hits" returned, there's only ever a maximum of four pages of search results displayed, which affects the ordering.

Agree about the gallery - been mentioned a couple of times before.

I have changed the settings on the server so there are no longer limits on the max number of results for search. I also increased the weight given to more recent posts so they should be closer to the top of the results.

Finally, the gallery is back online. Sorry for the delay. I have a good reason for the delay but won't bore you with the details.  [embarassed]
