This was a very second hand looking unit from the pictures - though the seller said "near new" (the workshop area it was displayed in look almost to be a junk yard, so the standards regarding "near new" could've been quite low).

These go for under $4.5K for the comprehensive set in Oz, so that's quite a lot to pay for something that's used and probably without warranty remaining.

If someone on this forum was the Ebay winner, I hope it turns out to be a good buy for you [big grin]

(a reasonable saving if it does turn out to be near new, but at 1000km from home for me meant a closer inspection wouldn't have worked)

I've seen these in the flesh and they would be pretty awesome for portable medium size table saw work on site. Think it'll still be the CMS route for me though ... (yes, I was bidding, but stopped when the price went ballistic)

Did that price include any extras like the sliding table or the extension?

The CMS looks to be most portable system available.  But it just isn't attractive to me unless I can get all the inserts.  That's not going to happen in the US now that we've forced the government to step us and stop us from willfully cutting our fingers off.  Unless Festool could figure out how to put a blade brake on the TS75.

I was wondering about the Triton Workcentre which seems to be available in the US through a reseller out of England.  Don't know how that works.  Looks a little flimsy but I'd but I would be will to baby it for the flexibility it offers.  Looking at the YouTube stuff I see that it has a sliding table and other options.  Even some sort of jig saw gizmo.

The CS70 sold did at least have the extensions.

On Triton ... I had all of the earlier Triton gear (and watched most of it slowly rust). As with anything, you get out what you put in and a good woodworker with Triton kit will probably do better than a poor woodworker with top of the range tools.

I believe the later incarnations of the Triton work centres were much improved, but the early versions had no DC, needed constant tightening / readjustment and didn't suit "fine" woodworking IMHO.

As a concept I think Triton was a great idea.
