Second hand vacuum pumps - specifically busch hanning electro-worke.

So i just found that i got refunded on saturday..... the hunt for hose continues :/
I would be super nice if sites removed stuff they couldnt get anymore. (y) (y) (y)
That's not surprising because Festool axed the Vac Sys & all accessories world wide in late 2020/early 2021 and there was an immediate feeding frenzy at the time.

Try searching for the hose only (469694) or the hose with the QD fitting (495293). The 496694 item is the original style hose while the 495293 could be original style or new style hose as Festool sold both under the same part number. 😵‍💫

I'm sure there's something (but not much) available out there, it's just locating it. :)

So thought is continue this thread on.

My vac pump finally arrived in Darwin today, all the way from Finland.
Postnord forgot to tell me ( or just plain didnt mention in general) that it would be delivered via aust post once it landed in OZ.
So up until this monday the only update i had once it landed early last week was "it is in customs ( in aus ) being cleared"...... i had no idea of what was happening for almost a week, and was almost ready to get angry through ebay.

Even with the total lack of packing ( see pics) it still worked ( thank &*^%!!!!), there was some random token air pillow on the top of a piece of cardboard and the rest was left up to the universe to be here in one piece...a little annoyed.

On a brighter note, it did come with some free items, almost a foot of 8mm tubing, a swivel adaptor and a normal push in fitting at the other end.
Some sort of siemens control item ( probably bin this...)
A rectangle tee piece
An smc kk4s female connector.
And finally a whole lot of white powder, this could be either dust, sand, cocaine, or something very cancerous, not to sure on this, but the filter works as only one half was covered, and the other side was clear.

After wiring in a new lead, i swapped over the fitting from my little vac pump and gave it a whirl - works soooo much better that the little thing i had before!
It definately has more holding pressure, but until some more items arrive i dont know how much its generating.
The 3rd party air filter arrived earlier this week ( found out about this on this site also) - at about 1/5th price of the festool version.
I got this particular fuel/air filter as i plan on getting the foam insert and maybe a systainer to 'hide' it in, and would like it to be somewhat vac pump like.

Ive ordered most items available from festool spares for the vac pump, and they should be here in about 2-3 weeks.

The official festool hose is currently snailing its way from the USA, as well as an amazon elcheapo version that i can massacre with impunity.
Only this left is to either go prevost, smc or festool fittings, without being caught and killed by my wife, but this may also have to wait till we get back from South Korea and Japan in september/october.

So after a little testing i removed the angle adapter that the pump came with, there was a lot of vacuum leakage at that point, and installed the right angle barb that arrived the next day.
I stuffed around a bit more and put the filter that came with the pump inline also.
Do all the vac sys pumps run hot?
It is not super comfortable to hold this thing after 20 minutes of use, im going to either relocate it so one of my fans hits it or i will have to put some sort of fan on it possibly, also they are not really quiet.

Yeah, so i played is 150mbar vacuum stronger than printed parts........ guess how that went.
While using the largest pads i was testing out how much hold both pads had together, i am happy to say one of the vacpads was still stuck to the back of the wooden and holding strong, one let go.
One of the swivel points decided it didnt want to play.
The pic shows after i glued the 2 halves of the main piece back together, and i still had the screw surround to go.
I felt pretty stupid after wards, but now have great faith in how much vacuum this setup has, and what sort of weight it will live through.

I used it all today to put together another of my draws ive had ready for glue up for the last 2+ months.
I wish i had understood how useful vacuum clamping is for doing things a year or 2 ago, rather than playing catch up /mcguyvering my way to a setup now.
