Graco HVLP Edge gun that is...

[attachimg=#]

This is how the dude spends his day off. Go figure.  [big grin]

Great fun!  Thats the benefit of enjoying your work.....it doesn't always feel like work.

Are you testing the Edge Gun?  Or is this a purchase?

Neither, actually. Mostly just a fun day jamming in the shop. Sedge is in the area and looking to polish up his HVLP chops. He does love his work indeed.

The previous pictures were with omu and wb lacquer. Now we are in latex primer.

Re: The Sedge.

Always anxious to learn & always willing to share what he has learned.  A great teacher and all round good guy!

The best educators are students...always looking to learn and expand skill sets. And, yes, just one of the nicest human beings you will meet.

I'll second that!

I've said it many times to Sedge... If I got to choose to have a big brother, he'd be the guy. Super nice, loads of fun, bleeds green, and is a walking encyclopedia.

For sure. And if a fight breaks out, be with him. Not that anything happened today, but there was this one time... [scared]

Well you shouldn't have walked into that DeWalt bar.  [popcorn]

Funny you should mention that...he threw me out of a bar in OOB in '88 when we were both at USM. Thank God we laugh about it now.  [unsure]

I know we are all guilty of it, but, spraying omu without a charcoal respirator?
As one who just went through 3 months of an attack on my central nervous system (disease related) I can tell you its no fun.

Sorry to hear of your condition. I have certain "kryptonite" sensitivities as well, and so does Todd who manages our spray program.

N95 in a properly ventilated shop with airflow moving air through the spray area with waterborne omu in small quantities through a 90% efficient hvlp gun that is dialed for efficiency is fine.

Everyone's mileage on this topic will probably vary. I would bet that pumping gas into our cars hurts us more than this.

Thanks Scott, I wrongly assumed solvent based omu. I should have known you knew better.

I should have more clearly explained at the top of the thread what we were up to. This was all kind of on the fly today as it was happening. Thanks.
