I been looking at getting a Senco 1010 and putting it into a systainer as others have done. I have seen a comp./nailer kit
PC0947 online at Lowes for 129.00 The compressor looks the same as the 1010, does anyone know the difference between the two.

Amazon also has that part # and they state it is the 1010. Lowes has a great deal.

That is a PC1010 plus a POS gun and is about the right price. Buy the combo and sell the gun for $20 on eBay to somebody that doesn't understand that is isn't worth $20 and you've paid about the same $109 for your PC1010 as I dd.

After comparing my new PC1010 to my old one, I'm not sure they are worth much more than $109.

Senco, another great company gone down. When you buy Senco look for a production date before 2010, preferably older.

got my senco and cut the round ends in the tank and welded a flat piece , now I'm able to fit the compressor sideways.

so now I fit the compressor, two air hose, two nail guns
plus I replace the top lid with a lid that has an attic so it allows me to store my nails.

everything is so compact that I may even be able to use a sys4 and save space on my shelves.

Greg, thanks for the info, I thought they might be the same.
Richard, I've been in the trade 30+years and the old Sencos were great, I bought a Senco 23 gauge pinner when they first came out and I had problems from day one. It jammed up a week ago and I finally threw it into the trash.
Miguel, welding is something I regret I never learned to do, Well done ! The most I likely will do, is to cut the handle to fit a sys. 4 and have my friend weld it.
I see on CPO Senco the 1010 is on recon for $85.00
Thanks for the responses, David

So if you put a compressor in a Systainer, the box could cost the same or more than the tool.  Crazy.

You are probably right, It does seem silly to me sometimes to spend $80+ on a plastic box. In my quest to become more efficient I have switched all my tools over to systainers. My idea is to put compressor, finish, brad guns and hose into one box, all in one place in shop and easy to grab for site work.

I spent $80+ for one of those plastic boxes, so I get their value.  I think the crazy thing is that a fully functioning compressor can be purchased for that price.  You can buy a whole cooked pizza for $6, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should.
