Just grabbed one of these.

Batteries - 15 minute rapid charge?? ... load of rubbish, they take ages.

Everything else proved pretty good. No cords and no gas cartridges - fires nice and quick.

It does chew through the batteries, so you need to plan/think ahead.

A while ago I was looking into cordless nailers and the fusion was the obvious choice if money wasn't a factor, but as always it was.  I happened to have a couple 14.4v Dewalt tools so I decided to go with the 14.4 cordless 16ga nailer.  At the time they didn't make an 18.  I got the bare tool new on ebay for $150, and I've been very happy with it.  I later got the 18v ryobi 18ga and I like it even better, and it cost a measley $100.  I've heard these battery-only nailers struggle in hardwoods but I've never had a problem using them on oak or mahogany.  The flywheel motor has about a 1 second lag from trigger pull to shot fired, but with this kind of price difference I think I can deal with a 1 second lag.  All in all a great investment, and I love not having to deal with the paslode cells.

Hi, cannot agree more. I purchased the new Ryobi Liion 18g nailer a few months ago and cannot be happier. It is not as fast as my old 18g pneumatic but cannot be beat for portability, ease of use - and it is quite powerful. You can also dial in the power similar to the pneumatics. I am sure the Senco is really good and that is what I really wanted - but for $130 the Ryobi was a no brainer.

I bought the 18 gauge senco earlier in the year for use on set. I used it on one 8 hour day non stop on a single charge as my only nailer. Haven't had the need to wait for a battery recharge but when charging i found it to be quick enough, no different than any other cordless batt, but again i wasnt in a rush to use it

The batteries now seem more responsive to a "rapid charge" now that they've had a long cycle charge (over night). Really happy!
