Tom made a quick post about this already but I really want to make sure everyone sees what we're doing here, because I think it's pretty cool.

The most exciting thing for our customers is that they now get free shipping to and from the repair center during the entirety of their three year warranty! What other tool manufacturer offers that?!

To make the process even easier, I've added a new online repair form to the website. You can use this form to initiate a repair (warranty or non-warranty). If it's a warranty repair (

Shane,

Sounds like a great service or program.  I will keep my fingers, arms and legs crossed that I never need to take advantage of it.

Somehow I think pigs will fly before other companies will try this approach to service.

Does it cover all tools currently under warranty or tools that were purchased after the change in policy?

I'll down a couple on Sunday in Munich while I'm celebrating Octoberfest... [smiley with beer stein]

What about refurbished tools?

Reconditioned tools come with a one year warranty. We've always covered shipping for the first year. So, recons are covered for the full warranty period.

Pretty dang nice and probably unprecedented in the marketplace [big grin]

This news helps me justify (rationalize) the PDC I want to buy next year.  ;D

So this news has no impact on recons warranty, got it.

I've been under the impression ever since I started buying Festool in '09 that all tools were registered for warranty purposes by the retailer we bought them from.

Does this mean that all my

I agree with that now, if they would only ship the PDC to North America!

Kevin,

Good questions.

The free shipping for the warranty period comes with the tool. No additional action required.

Regarding your dealer registering your tool... Yes, they are supposed to. There are some dealers that do not share customers' information with us. By registering the tools yourself, you have the benefit of knowing that the tool is registered properly. Even with dealers who register tools, there's often times missing or incorrect information.

Some benefits for registering...

- Should you need to send your tool for repair or servicing, the process will be much faster.
- It creates a record of your purchase in case your tool is lost, stolen or damaged by a fire or other catastrophe.
- Automatically enters you into our monthly sweepstakes where you have a chance to win more tools!
- Access videos for demos and tips to help you get the most out of your investment

Impossible to beat this level of service! I have a T15 and have ordered a Ti15. This warranty announcement is outstanding and makes me feel better about spending a pretty penny or two or three on green tools.

Excellent news, Shane! And great service!

I hope that I will never need it, but it's good to know that it is available if I do.

Today I'm not personally experiencing issues by not having this offered in Oz ... but this is the sort of thing I'd love to see introduced as a global Festool policy. Obviously an issue for markets that aren't serviced by Festool owned organisations!

Consider your selves forurtunate NA ...  [wink]

ive got a year old ts55 shane. the other day i had a slight disaster and tripped over the vac hose pulling it off my table. it was locked at the time so i could change the blade.

a bit of plastic came off the little locking cam. now it still locks. but i guess not as well as it should.

i registered it and if i look at the festool app on my iphone its in there alongside my midi vac and planer.

is it worth claiming for this or can i wait until it needs a service? is it worth getting them checked over? i plan on getting a fair bit more festool gear like so hoping my festool app soon has a lot more stuff on it,.

cheers

Paul

edit :- im in the uk btw
