Setting up the Kapex Extensions (trimming attachments) on the MFT/3

This is the main reason I plunked down the cash to pick up the trimming attachments. Not only are they accurate, but they fit on other Festool tables that use the same v-groove railing on the kapex wings. These have made such a drastic change in how I cross cut wide pieces. No longer do I have to fiddle with just the track saw, measuring, marking and setting the guide rail down. Just plop it on my MFT/3, set the flag stops on the trimming attachments, and that's all she wrote! Wide cross cuts up to 230 cm!!

I was setting up my drill press table to the Right of the MFT/3 when I ripped wide boards and still had to balance the boards from falling forwards.  I've now the Kapex with stand & extensions and hadn't yet realized the wings would work and be useful in this way ... thanks for sharing this tip!!

[member=60777]Bugsysiegals[/member] yep I had the same problem. I was using the back of a chair or anything else in my shop to support the overhanging materials. These really changed the way I work in the shop - would not want to go back to not having them.

My miter saw setup only permits stopped cuts to about 5 feet, so I too have found this setup to be invaluable when I have to do a repeat longer cuts.
