I wouldn't be surprised to see the prices go up.  But that is normal with a product like this as the popularity of the products causes infrastructure changes and a desire to make a profit comes into play.  Those behind the scenes costs add up.  I would venture a guess that the purchase by TTS will slow the pace of price increases over time.  It may also allow the flexibility of the company to bring new options and features to market sooner.

Just my opinion of course.

Or speed of updates drops drastically, to milk users for new features, as the idea is patent protected for the next years...

One Blaupunkt VCR that I once fixed was perfectly capable of longplay, several years before that feature was initially introduced, the only thing it was missing was the button and a hole in the front for it to go through.
