Should I glue slats

That looks great.  So you used the domino to mortise for the slats also?

Just finished this bed and did glue the slats. I included the toddler portion (see "parts" pix) and think glue was mandatory for this part. For the slats I used slow drying glue, followed by quick attention to squeeze-out.

You made a very good decision glueing them all!

What slow drying glue did you use?  It is so hot and dry here everything seems to dry fast.

Wood slat receivers, I did not use a Domino.

I made a narrow jig/slot that allowed the slat receivers to slide 1 3/16" . Next to this slide I mounted  my FS1400/2-LR32 guide rail. With my 1400 router (with LR32 mount) and 3/8 up-cut bit I would:
1. plunge 1/2"
2. slide slat receiver 1 3/16" routing slot
3. Raise router - return slat receiver to start position in jig and advance router 96 mm (3 holes) and do next slot

I would send picture of jig but I pitched it when I finished the project. It was easy to make and easier to remake. One of the keys was keeping the upper and lower slat holders in pairs, indexed to upper and lower and on the correct ends.

Looking at the picture labeled "pieces" might give you a better idea of what I am trying to describe.

Glue

I keep my all of my glue in the house here in Spokane. I do not think these any of these glues like temp. swings. Either 100+ or less than 32.
