This is a great thread, as usual I am late.  I don't have a name for this but I think of it as my "mini-stack" which rolls around as I attend to various projects.  It is a mix of M12, hand tools, a small assortment of screws, some basic measuring & marking, testing, & layout.  The top section has a laser level and tripod.

Nice setup. What did you use to attach the level to the Systainer? Are those easily available?

Been finally able to start with the shadowfoam organization for my sys drawers.
What a difference this makes is unbelievable. I am extremely happy with how these are turning out, even if they are far from perfect, especially my try to emulate the CXS shape did not result in an exact fit. But it works and is heaps better that before, rattling around in the empty drawer…

It looks fantastic and was obviously worth to trouble. As I was scrolling down the pics, I thought "That looks like a great job for a Shaper Origin", then I got far enough to see the tape.
Nice job, How do you find the shadow foam to cut with it? I think the people who make it, intend for it to be cut with a razor, as most would do. Is it as firm/dense as the foam in the Shaper Systainer?

I did not buy „Kaizen-Foam“ which you cut with a knife and peel back the layers. What I purchased is shadowfoam intended for CNC cutting. No real layers and much more dense than the kaizen-stuff. Nicer, if you ask me.

It cute great with a sharp cutter on the origing. You can even go full depth. I think the deepest I cut in one go was 38mm.

But you need to make sure to glue down the foam (double sided tape works well). Otherwise the force from the cut will „pull up“ the material leading to rips/ holes in the foam. Ask me how I know.

Most amazing to me was the feeling you get when looking at the results. Strangely calming and satisfying to have such an orderly workshop. At least for me, this is new. Usually the shop is a mess. [emoji16]

Yes I can only agree.
Sometimes it ca get sticky when trying to push the origin across the foam, but so far no major issues.

Is this product sold in the USA? It looks different form you pictures to the product of the same name in the USA, which looks like Kaizen foam, which I am not a real fan of. this looks nicer,

What I purchased was just „regular“ closed-cell PE foam in a good sense quality.
I got it from a shop that specializes in 5S-systems and shadowboard manufacturing.

I did also look for the „branded“ shadowfoam/shadowboard or Kaizen-Foam, but was not happy with what you see in the pictures.

I am based in Germany so not able to give you directions for a vendor, but I see no reason you should not be able to source dense PE-foam locally.

I have looked into the legitimate Shadowfoam branded material before. Seems like it is made (or at least sold/distributed from the UK somewhere. They even advertise next day delivery there. They will ship it here, but that adds quite a bit to the cost.
I'm not really a fan of the Kaizen stuff. It looks too much like a bath sponge.
I like the much more dense looking stuff like what comes in the Origin Systainer.
I haven't found anything like that here yet. Maybe UK shipping will have to do

No relation or experience with either, but I can not imagine that you would need to get into global shipping for high density PE foam.

For the Dutch people on this forum, Schuimwinkel.nl sell this in big slabs and on a role. Question; I am thinking of making some custom inserts for my sustainers (from plywood or MDF) and then glue a thin layer of rubber or foam on it. Does anyone here have experience with this and if so any tips?

Not too much experience, but from the little I have:
- choose plywood thickness carefully (gets heavy quickly, is usually stronger than you think)
- so far I used contact adhesive when glueing rubber/cork/foam sheets to wood. Works perfectly but is permanent - tryout phase with double sided tape might be beneficial

Just my 2 cents, as they say…

One more. Usually, MDF will be heavier than plywood with less durability, so not recommended for something you carry.
