Side Table Project

Hello Everyone

I wanted to produce a video to show off some of the tools and products that I have reviewed and like. One thing led to another and I ended up making a set of 4 videos that demonstrates the beauty of the Domino DF500 and one or two other products.

I am afraid that some of the professional woodworking FOGgers will find this simple project a bit tame and so for you I hope that you like the simplicity of my jointing jig made from workshop scrap in about 30 seconds.

Delightful vids Peter!
I'm just in the final phases of three small tables with somewhat more complexity, but I'm questioning whether the stringing and inlaying and dovetailing were really worth it at the end of the day.

Your jig is brilliant, just might steal the idea for my own shop.

Cool little video series that shows a variety of domino joints from delicate pieces to more sturdy components. I always love to watch other woodworkers build anything so this was a treat. Unfortunately I have to protest one thing, nothing major, don't take it personal, just a pet peeve of mine. Was an impact gun necessary to drive what looked like #6 screws into pre drilled holes???? Get a CXS you wont be sorry.

Unfortunately I have to protest one thing, nothing major, don't take it personal, just a pet peeve of mine. Was an impact gun necessary to drive what looked like #6 screws into pre drilled holes???? Get a CXS you wont be sorry.

There are two reasons for using the impact driver...

First if controlled properly, and the Hitachi has great trigger control, it is less likely to damage the wood. I would love to have a CXS, now that is a really cool machine.

Second, I struggle putting in screws due to my bad wrists. With an impact driver you get almost no turning force at the wrist.

Thank you for taking the time to watch the videos everyone. My arthritis has actually been a boon in many ways as it is often the reason I try to make things easier by using some form of simple jig. It was also the primary reason for selling my big heavy woodworking machines and turning to Festool.

The guide rail will be the 2nd thing Ill fool with when I get home. The first  will be playing with my little puppy shes my sweet heart, she really notices me gone every TIME I leave. When I get home her litle heart starts TICKING fast and her little tail wags keeping TIME like a metrodone (ne of those TICKINGS the conductor in a orchestra uses)
