Simple Scrap Wood Parallel Guides

Here is a simple homemade set of P-guides that work great. Just move the 2 stops to whatever width is needed and cut away - these are set at 75mm.

This set will handle up to 12", I am going to make a longer set for up to 24".

For V2.0 an improvement would be replace the screwed-on stops with a piece of Incra track with the scale (route a dado for it) and then the stops could be easily adjusted.

i like the idea of this. i like that you can set it up with out the rail  . i like that you can set the far side of the kerf to the line  so thgat you can cut 70mm off a board adn leave the rest without having to work out the kerf  distance
if i was making this i would use a length of 8020 etc for the t slots all around. then i would cut a 1" slot in it where the blade cuts, then put in a sacrifitial piece of hard wood.  i would mount a bessey auto adjust toggle clamp under the part that sits on the work piece

Thought about making a more complicated set but decided to go the low-tech route to save time. I needed to rip 2 sheets of plywood into 75mm strips to make ladder frames for a bedroom soffit yesterday so I was not worried about ease of adjustment for now.

I did not consider using 8020 but I like that idea.  Here is a short video of them in use:

Hi again RMW,

I like the simplicity of your solution : you had a problem, and you simply solved it with some scrap pieces of wood.

Of course, it is possible to do a Hi-Tech version of your jig, but the cost is not the same.

I will probably do one with wood and some screws.

Hey Jerry. Sorry but I am unclear what you are asking about "black indicated made of wood"?

The hose is sold on Amazon as Mr. Nozzle. Somewhere else on the FOG there was a thread about adapters available from a website that looks just like the end of a 27mm festool hose.

Jerome nailed it. I use those clips with several different jigs to fix the guide rail in a set position. I have not used the stock MFT hardware since the rip dogs were made.
