Not to jinx it, but this is the first time in over a month that the site has actually felt responsive for longer than 2 or 3 minutes.

Is this something that someone can take a look at to see what, if anything, can be done to help keep it this way?

The slow down was probably due to “election interference”.  That’s over.  Time will tell.

It was a pain.  If I encountered the slowdown, I would not post for the rest of the day.  That meant for many days it was a “one-post-day”.

I hope you are right.  Everyone has a different tolerance level, but a few more weeks of the slowdown would have me searching for alternative sites.

I take it back.  The site was back to being extremely slow by 10:30 PM CST yesterday.

I suspect that the slowdowns can be traced back to the host servers.  And that is like a marriage.  Breakups can be messy and fraught with headaches. 

If feels like they are in “counseling” now, hoping to salvage the relationship.

Major performance improvements (a generalized observation) require a substantial infusion of capital. 

My approach is to avoid this site for the rest of the day once I hit a slowdown.

Super-annoying though.

Addendum:  This site is slow currently, PLUS it will not allow me to “Preview”. It does allow for me to post, however.

Yes it slow. (I am a web\ai consultant).

We don't work on PHP or SMF (this site's software) but someone that did should be able to optimize the page loading and content delivery to speed things up.

The administrator who has helped out in the past and has the background to this is a Festool employee, so don't expect improvements until the beginning of next week.

Well, this internet site thing seems to be a big deal...unfortunately.  [sad]

This has been non-stop goofiness for the last month. Replying to and starting messages doesn't appear to be a problem. The issue is in adding photographs and attachments...and is it any more basic than that?
