I'm getting ready to build a couple of barn style doors for a client.  Should I bother using dominos for the planks?

If the question is Domino the answer is always yes!  lol

Dominos or pegs or biscuits are a good way to align when doing panel glue ups.  There's also some tricks in the MFT supplemental manual on glue ups and keeping them flat.

If it's actually a barn type door the most important thing is the fit of the diagonal supports. Fasteners are secondary - iron bolts and decorative washers are cool. [smile]

Good evening.  I have done about 350 “barn doors” over the last 3 years and have used just about every method out there.  If you could provide a picture of the design that would help tremendously. I use the Domino XL on every door now in some form.

Check out my thread.  I usually post a picture after every install.
