I did not slip down the slope. I went into freefall, recovered and want to go again. It started of with a rotex 150, ct 22 combo and within 2 weeks a ts 75, of 1400, 2 mft 1080's, domino, rails and accerories followed. The of 1010 is next and i want another sander. I am leaning towards the rs 200 or rs 300. The festool catalogue describes the rs 200 as providing an extremely smooth sanding pattern and no reworking needed, whilst the rs 300 is described as a multi talent with no mention of sanding pattern. Is there a real difference in smoothness of surface when using the same grit of paper? I want a sander which will bring me closer to corners. I have a fein multi which can do the work of the deltex and dts 400 (with more dust of course). Please give me your opinion and benefit of your experience.

  Thanks.

Murphyt, welcome to the board and the world of Festool. :D ;D That was quite a freefall that you took and I know that you will love all that you have purchased to date. Unfortunately, the question you are asking about the rs200 and rs300 is not one that most of us in the USA can answer as those sanders are NAINA (not available in North America)  :( I just wanted to welcome you and I know that some of our brethren not in North America will give you the help and advice you need. Hi, welcome

Since you have the Fein to reach corners, I would be looking at the ETS150/3 for the ultimate finishing sander.  Yes, the same grit will give a different finish quality with different sander types and stroke sizes.
