Because the darn thing is not available over here (Europe), I plan on making one myself.

If you own one, would you be so nice and take some measurements, preferably in millimeters, of: length, width, thickness. Please??

Just curious what this item is?

Just measure the inside of your guide rail t-slot or outside of the rail connector.

A Slop Stop is about 65mm long with a 40mm long slightly tapered cut-out the tab engages with.
The other two dimensions are the same as the guide rail slot as suggested above.
They work well and eliminate any sideways movement.

Am I the only one who has an issue with a public request by anyone - not picking on the OP - who asks for assistance to duplicate a commercially available item?

No Peter, you are NOT the only one, and I was not willing to supply this info myself. The manufacturer has R&D, time and money into their product, even if it is an inexpensive item, there is still value there to the original manufacturer. Sure the OP is probably not going into business with these, but I was put off by the initial request for sure...

I have had similar requests in the past for other things that I sell (not tools), and have simply ignored those requests for the same reason

Its OK unless he is planning to sell it. Have you ever replicated commercially available jigs, tools, or other items for your own use? Took measurements from a piece of furniture and made it yourself? How many people made their own Qwas dogs, MFT tops? Some sell jigs to replicate those MFT tops.
You may disprove, which is fine, I'm with you, but I doubt there is legal problem with it.

Honestly no.  But if I had I would have been doing the measuring and the other mental work to re-create versus people making requests on open internet forums.

I am just weird I guess.  [scared]

I am sorry if I broke some rule, but I do recall other requests for measurements of devices and parts, even from Festool stuff, so I was not aware of the preciousness of my question.

Also, I tried to buy a Slop-Stop through Festoolproducts, but they don’t deliver to Europe. Ebay is in my opinion a darkish venue, because a lot of its offerings are counterfeits and such (not to offend the producer of the S-S if indeed it is they who offer it on eBay which is in no way communicated there).

Other option is---I'll ship you a Slop Stop if you wish. PM me your address.

Tom

Bert - the one offered in the eBay link posted is the real deal, that is John's account from Tool Improvements. You can order with confidence.

FWIW they may not be available much longer, I think John sold his CNC gear and moved on to other interests. As far as I know ToolNut was the only other place to buy them, before shutting down John had a deal with them for distribution. Get it while you can, I suspect they won't be made again once the current stock is gone.

It wouldn't be easy to make one anyway judging by the fine taper on the slot.

Buy one. They are worth the £s.

Thanks for the heads up, Richard. I have taken up Tom in his offer, so all will be well...

Had an extra one on the shelf. I'll get it in the mail on Monday.
