this house as you can see had windows in the openings by the fire place so i had to make these 6' tall and this time I used rustic hickory as the tops with one coat of stain  and a several coats of lacquer

made the doors also as usually

Looking good man. Like how the top breaks up the white, Eric

Use Sherwin Williams super paint satin and glidden ultra hide primer

Thanks

Thanks Kreg.

I'm new to finishing (and woodworking), so please excuse my possibly dumb questions or comments. I've pored over the archives in the "Finishing and Painting" section (and this discussion may belong there). I found http://festoolownersgroup.com/finishing/painting-birch-plywood/ which in turn references http://www.woodweb.com/knowledge_base/Latex_Paint__Too_Soft_for_Bookcases.html which says that latex never dries enough to prevent stuff (esp. books) from sticking to it. Are your results different, or do you have a different technique that prevents this?

Thanks, Dick

Dick no need to apologize this is how we learn and no question is stupid or dumb if you do not know answer!!!!

If you are going to brush a roll as I have done on overv300 Builtins. I've usually80% of time use super paint and have no problems as long as customer waits for it to dry and cure usually 3-7 days is fine

I have also used Sw pro classic water base and it works great

I do not have spray equipment and never will if somebody wants high end spray finishes bi build it and they can find someone to do it or hire a cabinet co who builds and sprays.

I hate painting but I have to do it.

Have you seen any of my videos on YouTube?  Builtinsbykreg ??  Now over 345,000 views!!!

You can also call me with questions. Or email me. Or ask here as most don't know anyway !!! And most want to learn. This is how I learned to become the builtinking !!!!!  Lol

Thanks again Kreg!

Yes I have seen a few of your excellent videos (LR 32 system). I enjoyed and learned from them as well as many of your posts here; you and so many here are GREAT assets. I'll search for your other videos on YouTube.

BTW, based on your videos, I've bought the LR 32 system for the bookshelves, but have yet to use it.

Regards, Dick

I want bigger pictures !
