I think your results will be much different if you did that with the newer Bosch PS41 impact driver. I've got both the PS40 & PS41, there is no comparision between the 2. My PS40 doesn't get used much anymore.....

Seen as u have both can you do a video comparing both? Prove to me its a lot better.

Well, I borrowed a camera with video, I tried, just not good enough to run an impact with each hand and not have one blow off the screw, sorry. Next time I'll use hex head screws, harder to screw up.
FWIW, I ran all I had, used the 'ol onethousandone, onethousandtwo count routine.....

Material: 2 pine 2x4's clamped to the bench
Screws: #9x3" long, no pilot hole, started by hand, appx 1/4" (6mm) in
Results:
Bosch ps40, 10 seconds
Bosch ps41, 5-6 seconds
Milwaukee M12, 8 seconds
Old DeWalt ni-cad, 12 volt, 4 seconds

Just for shrits & grins, Bosch ps21, 7 seconds.

Maybe I can get a compentent assistant, try the video thing again.

Pathetic as it my be, I did upload my attempt.

But you can't compare drills to impact drivers. JMB compares two drills of two different brands. It's no use to mention impact drivers in relation to this.

My video shows two impact drills of different brands not drills. I have used the little Bosch drill it's even worse than the impact impact Bosch I am using in the video if I can get hold of it again I'll do a video of that aswell. The makita drill isn't very good either it drains the battery very quickly and has no power really. That's why I didn't bother with the drills they rnt even worth taking out of the box.

JMB, I'd like to see you do a video comparison between two Yankee screwdrivers with those same screws.  [smile]
