I just wrapped this job up this weekend.  It's a really small kitchen in an older neighborhood in Phoenix.  The house belonged to a former colleague of mine that decided to join the priesthood and move to New Zealand.  His god son is in the process of buying the place and should be moving in soon so I had to get all the loose ends tied up this weekend.
All of the boxes are prefinished birch, dominoed for alignment and screwed together.  The doors/drawer fronts and mouldings are all poplar.  I usually do solid wood drawer boxes but these are 1/2" prefinished birch, pocket screwed together.
I wasn't sure about the moulding on the base cabinets but they wanted it.  I'll be interested to see how much of a beating it's going to take.

Nice work, as usual.
I don't like the molding on the base cabinets (either) but it's really subjective.
I am always curious about the finish?

Russell,

I wouldn't be worried about being beat up.  Not everyone can spend 100 grand on a kitchen and you have produced something that I am sure is far superior to what was there before, was quality made, and was in line with what the future owners wanted.  Well done!

As someone who uses my kitchen instead of having one for a monument I can say that FOR ME the moldings would present a cleaning nightmare and the proportions of the moldings on the drawers didn't meet my ideals.

How in the world do you manage doing these projects along with your teaching?  I am amazed!

Peter
