Instead of looking around for the blades inside the systainer holding my jigsaw; I put up (only used glue) some magnetic strips to the lid. I got these from a refrigator door. Just two of them will hold the blades firmly.

Yea & painted it the wrong colour  ;)  Nice tip though.  What with this & Chris's tip for winding up the power cord i can see a whole new trend coming for what you can fit to the lid.  Maybee Shane could have that as his next competition  [big grin]

You listening Shane  [popcorn]

Woodguy.

Does the magnetic strips not mess with the other accessories in your systainer or the machine for that matter? When I "mess with" I mean stick to or pull on.

Great Idea. You always seem to come out with the clever ideas for systainers.

I did worry that the magnets would damage the electrical system of the saw; but nothing happened. The magnetic strips are pretty close to the engine tough; however this saw has never let me down in the past 8 years. Also the other accessories are not messed with. The magnets have not proven to be that strong that they pick up loosely placed items in the systainer.

And for the record; the previous jigsaw pictured was, sort of speak, pigment disabled. I should've known better posting on the FOG. Still; Metabo is built with the same "German thoroughness" as Festool is.

i just took my trion and put it in a sys2 with attic storage (moved it with the inlay of course). it provides more room inside for the parallel guide, compass, guide rail foot and plug it cord and the blades can be stored neatly on top. u only have to always close it right after u took one out or u end up collecting them from the floor ^^

Your're completely right with the quality of the dark green Metabo tools, they are build to last.. coming very close to FESTOOL and other premium brands..
But they just recently bought a different company "Elektra-Beckum" known for the blue colored tools.. covering more the lower price and quality range..

btw.. great idea with the JigSaw blades.. I think i put it in my Jig Saw Systainer as well..

kind regards, Mike
