So how do you install aluminum crown without nails? With the DOMINO of course.

So I was in quite a pickle, I had to install alumasteel (a brushed aluminum laminate) molding, but I couldn't nail it...I didn't have any wax sticks that look like it that I could use to fill the holes!  So I dug out the Domino, and RONWENS domiplate and went to town.  Needless to say, this tool is everything its cracked up to be.

The best part about using the domino in this application, was that I was able to dry fit all four sides of the cabinet crown to make sure everything fit just right.  I got lazy and used 2p10 on the miters instead of the domino, well actually after spending all day on scribing and fitting the four pieces I just wanted it done!

A special thanks to Wood_Junkie for the advice on how to post pics from my Droid.

Wow thats very modern for you guys  ;D more like the stuff we do here we dont often see you Americans with modern type units all the stuff i have seen is quiet dated no offence  [wink].

It looks cool, Jon.

How did you scribe and cope that stuff?

Tom

Since its only an aluminum laminate, it wasn't too difficult to scribe.  Once I scribed my line, I used my ts to backbevel it as close to my line as possible, then use a belt sander to do the rest.

Joiner, tell me about it!  I'm very used to the same ole traditional style over and over again.  This house was quite a change, and a bit refreshing.  Many more pictures to come.

Any more pics ?  I like it so far, right up my street  [big grin]

Working on it, have to change the resolution on all the pics I took, but just wait!  Definitely not your typical American traditional home.

Here's a pic in the meantime ..
