Well, sometimes ignorance is bliss. I purchased a slightly used RO 125 from fellow fogger a year or two ago without eveven knowing that there was a larger sander availabe. I just knew that I needed a Festool sander because I was sick of being covered in dust after sanding with my old Bosch.
Since purchasing this sander, I've taken on jobs I wouldn't even had considered or would have turned my nose up to. You want me to sand your mailbox post down, prime and paint it? Sure, piece of cake. Easy money, now I've done many in my neighborhood as a result of doing just one.
Enter in this job. This is another job I would not have tackled without my RO 125. I had to strip down these cypress boards then refinish them. The boards had a finish called sikkens, and most of them had what looked to be mold or mildew on them. Enter the Rotex mode with 50 rubin. I had the entire run stripped down in a little over an hour in his mode. Then followed with grit progression on random orbit :80, 100, 120, 150 all rubin.
All thats left to do is to apply a new coat of Sikkens tomorrow. Done. Pretty easy couple of days, and my bills get paid.
And yes, having an RO 90 would have been nice, but the multi master worked well enough...
Thanks Festool.
