So you say you're undecided about getting an RO 125?

Well, sometimes ignorance is bliss.  I purchased a slightly used RO 125 from fellow fogger a year or two ago without eveven  knowing that there was a larger sander availabe.  I just knew that I needed a Festool sander because I was sick of being covered in dust after sanding with my old Bosch.

Since purchasing this sander, I've taken on jobs I wouldn't even had considered or would have turned my nose up to.  You want me to sand your mailbox post down, prime and paint it?  Sure, piece of cake.  Easy money, now I've done many in my neighborhood  as a result of doing just one.

Enter in this job.  This is another job I would not have tackled without my RO 125.  I had to strip down these cypress boards then refinish them.  The boards had a finish called sikkens, and most of them had what looked to be mold or mildew on them.  Enter the Rotex mode with 50 rubin.  I had the entire run stripped down in a little over an hour in his mode. Then followed with grit progression on random orbit :80, 100, 120, 150 all rubin.

All thats left to do is to apply a new coat of Sikkens tomorrow.  Done.  Pretty easy couple of days, and my bills get paid.
And yes, having an RO 90 would have been nice, but the multi master worked well enough...

Thanks Festool.

More pics. [big grin]

After sanding, I treated the cypress with a mildewcide(?) by zinnser, which is why the bottom of the boards look wet.  Going to let it dry overnight, then apply the Sikkens.

Do I see a concessionaire stand at a pool in those pictures?

It is always great to see people using your tools in even non glorious ways to make a living!

You hit the nail on the head. Grab the remote, push the button, the gates come up to reveal a full kitchen complete with kegarator.

View of the pool, rough and tumble job site :)

Nice job Jon, refurbing those boards is a planet friendly way to go. Sikkens is a great product....as long as it is the right one for the job and done properly... sounds like you won't get a call back to this one for a long time though. [smile]

Thanks Rob.  Funny thing is, the boards have already been replaced once and they were originally installed a little more than three years ago.  They should have called me first before tearing them out [tongue].

I'm worried that the mold/mildew will keep coming back, but hopefully the zinnser will hold of off.

It almost looks like those tools belong there.  Fancy spot = fancy tools.

anything less would be uncivilized.

I was really hoping the homeowners wouldn't be around.  I wanted in the worst way put a systainer on a pool float with a beer and snap a pic.
