Is anyone aware that the new socket sets are missing a 7/16" socket?
The 1/2" drive section stops at 1/2" as the smallest socket.
The 1/4" drive section has 1/2" as the biggest socket, but the next size down is 13/32"? No 7/16" in either set?

I am not sure what the answer would be? It certainly seems odd.

If the answer is yes, then ........ ????

If the answer is no, then ........... ????

Why are there no 3/8" drive sockets?

I tend to associate 1/2" drive with heavier duty use like vehicle repairs or industrial maintenance, which does not seem to be the market that Festool caters to.

In 3/8" drive my Snap-On socket sets run up to 1" and 22 mm. I don't break out the 1/2 or 3/4 drive stuff unless I'm working on my tractors or other heavy equipment.

Does Festool offer 3/8" drive in another set.

Agree with Bob, that big ratchet handle is too small for 1/2” sockets.

A 3/8” ratchet and sockets is more in line with what the intended customers would use.

From Festool...

It does seem odd to skip the 7/16". I guess the 13/32" makes sense considering that it has all the other x/32" sockets.

Well the real oddity is that the 7/16" hex is used on 1/4" diameter bolts...arguably one of if not THE most popular size.  [jawdrop]

My point exactly! The thing about the 1/32nd increments is fine, go from 13/32 to 14/32 (which is 7/16) but they skip to 16/32 (1/2)
As stated, 7/16 is the most common fractional size that I use. It fits 1/4" bolts/nuts.
10mm is likely the next most common, for what I do anyway.
I have a small 3/8 drive set in my big tool chest, but find that it was lacking a bit in some of the sizes I needed for maintenance tasks. That's why I bought the set in the first place. It's not that I don't have a 7/16 socket, but I did expect on to be in the set?

The whole set seems to have missed the mark for me, not that I need any of it as I have built up a hand tool collection for over 50 years. I started with the standard 1/2" socket sets because that is all there was and resisted changing to 3/8" because I was stuck in the old way of doing things but I eventually got on board. Then came 1/4" drive and now all my 1/2" stuff has got rust on it because it is never used. My son who is an automotive technician does not own any 1/2" stuff apart from about 4 sockets all used with impact guns and now for Festool to offer 1/2" instead of 3/8" seems a bit peculiar TTTT. For those who work on heavy equipment it is a different story of course but for average handyman use 1/2" is basically dead and on modern cars simply can't be used.
