Walnut coffee table. I started this during the fall and worked on it as my schedule allowed. Even though it's taken me nearly 7 months to finish, I enjoyed every step of the process and am quite proud of the finished results.

No plans used - just a boy, his tools and some wood 😂

I think it's easy to try and complicate your projects, thinking that you have to use some crazy or hard techniques - however I think that robs the enjoyment. There's something about building a 'simple' design that makes a woodworker feel at home.

Everything is domino'd together with one tight, and the rest loose at all joints.

Tools used:

DeWalt 735x Thickness Planer w/ shop made joiner sled
Festool TS-75 w/ parallel guides
Festool DF 500
Festool MFT/3
Festool Kapex
Festool ETS-EC 125
Titebond II
Minwax Waterbased Polyurethane

Looks really great.  Is that still called a 'bread board' end?  If so, you domino'd that to the table as well?  I haven't started any solid wood projects yet as I need to learn more about wood movement.  Be curious on your thoughts on this.  Again, very nice table.

That looks really nice. I always like walnut. I'm also curious about the breadboard ends. How did you attach them?

It’s beautiful, nicely done and I like that you kept everything. I’m pretty new and every time I try to make something unique it’s where I run into issues but I do learn things .

Most things I do are Walnut so I love seeing what others do.

Nice work. Where are you in Virginia [member=73012]BenMarshallDesigns[/member] ?

Don't feel bad about 7 months. Most of my projects take that or longer. The only real way for me to get things done is if I take off work when the house is empty.

This, but the house is NEVER empty anymore. I could take off and work while the kids are in school, but my wife's "office" is now in our guest room, right above the garage where I would be making a bunch of noise.
