Good idea using a sortainer to store yer Wera stuff.

I have a sortainainer with some empty drawer. I think Ill follow your lead and use the empty drawers to stroe and organize my Wera stuff.

Ive been reorganizing my shop and thats a great idea as I have my sortainers stored under my MFTs. It will save me a walk to the roll away.

Plus that socket set and wrench set is pretty slick.

Ill take a photo of my insulated screw driver set and post it.

Got the same setup and love it!

Hi Cheese.
They (metric) are chrome plated. The Imperial Set is Black High Strength Tool Steel according to dealer website.
I stand to be corrected but I thought stainless steel processing weakened the strength.

Hey Untidy I just looked at the photo and they looked liked like sst. Nowadays with more tools being produced in stainless, I was just curious. You're correct though, common stainless would be more susceptible to corner rounding and bending unless it was post processed. [smile]

Looking at my rapidly shrinking HF screwdriver set with a Wera set. The insulated yellow/red are cheaper on Amazon than the green/black. Thoughts?

Some of the tools are for a new facility that I have coming online in October and I am going to fill up a new tool cart.

Whoa?! Why the Yellow, Green AND Red versions of the tools? Lotta duplicates in there.

Some things are metric, some imperial, and the yellow Wera are heavy duty. All the Red Bull tools came as a complete set. I bought all of this from KC tool and had a 10% off coupon. I building a complete new tool set for a new facility that I will manage, lots more to buy!

I received this nice little Wera Tool Check Plus set for Christmas.  Although it appears well built I was disappointed to see that one of the Torx security bits was machined incorrectly.  It apparently failed to be caught after machining and again when the set was assembled.

The center hole is missing on the T-15 security bit and it is not simply a wrongly insterted standard Torx bit as one can see the different shank profile differences between the Torx security and standard bits.

I guess I expected more from Wera.

I am betting the same thing, hence why I didn't mention the supplier.  I'll always give the supplier an opportunity to make it right.  Just disappointed in the OEM since they have typically been associated with top quality

I hear ya...and I fully understand your disappointment. Over 30 years ago these type of minor issues were common place, however with the implementation of AQL levels (quality assurance levels), the implementation of standard manufacturing practices and the implementation of ISO standards...along with the incorporation of literally thousands of pages of current manufacturing/quality acumen, these niggling manufacturing issues should no longer exist.

Let's take it a step further, a very simple and inexpensive vision system would eliminate this issue. A very effective vision system is incorporated into a $2500 Shaper router. Why is a vision system system not incorporated into a $500,000+ international production line that probably produces 15-20 million parts a year?

Now that's a mystery to me...dimensions too small, dimensions too large, ya I get that it may not be caught, however, part features that are not created in the part geometry, and worse yet, not detected...I don't get that.

That item is useless for its intended purpose, rather like the perfectly machined 3/8" drive socket that failed to have the 3/8" square drive broached into the business end.
