Has anyone tried to put a sortainner drawer in a tloc and if so how did it turn out. Im looking to put a small drawer in a sys2  to put some drill bits in.

I haven't tried a sortainer drawer, but you might want to check out mini systainers.  With their lids that can be placed upright also.

Peter

You can also order an "attic"-style lid and retrofit it to your systainer.  Part numbers are on EKAT

Do you mean to just place the drawer into the Systainer as a removable box? Or are you thinking of actually  making it slide in/out  by cutting an opening in the front of the Systainer?

Seth

Peter , I have 3 minis for other stuff  [ see ' maxing out a mini 'for one of them.)
Joseph , the systainer i am putting the drawer in already has an attic lid ( see ' ethafoam for custom inserts')
Seth, i am going to cut an opening in the systainer so it will be a proper drawer
I will be doing it later so will post pics

Pretty cool Dave. Is that two sided tape or something for supports/ runners?

Seth

Its UPVC strips to keep the drawer snug ito the top. a piece of rectangular ducting

Neat idea, think I might try that when I set up my new drill box. Thanks for putting it out there.

What drills are you thinking of putting in what size systainer . I used the drawer as i like to cram as much as i can into the smallest space possible but still get to what i need quickly . Next project is moving my cxs into a sys where i can also store  some drill bits as well

You might try the following options:
1. Use a systainer SYS 2-DF with lid compartment, but that has small storage possibilities (see picture);
2. Try to fit the black insert from the original CXS systainer in a large drawer from a SYS 3/4 sortainer (see picture);
3. Use a Tanos SYS 1/4 sortainer (see picture) under your CXS T-Loc systainer. You can replace the blue latches with the Festool green ones if you like.

Not a fan of the sortainer because of  the waste of space relative to storage space thats why i added a drawer to my sys 2 (with attic lid) as i prefer to maximize all the space available .i.e less gear to carry to site

I'm thinking of setting something up for a couple of Panasonics, impact and drill driver. Might use a sortainer as I have one spare.

Biggest problem i found is the size of the charger , wether its my makitas or cxs the charger is taller than the dril and conversely determines what size systainer you have to use

Here are some pictures of my SYS3-4 sortainer filled with a T15 and TI15.
On the left there are two batteries and 4 FastFix Centrotec/Jacobs chucks.
In the top drawers there are some drills, bits and other stuff.
There is no place for the charger but with the 2 batteries I can work nearly one day long.
