i've a question for you , the festool sortainer ( maded by tanos ) are good ? or the price is high for that quality ?

thanks

annoying for finish nails, too heavy, binds when not dead flat, a packed drawer can keep it from opening and you have to call macguyver. i wish i didn't put all my finish nails in there, some i haven't been able to open for a while.

I have a 12 drawer sortainer and a SYS-1 Box Small Parts Organizer and prefer the SYS-1 Box over the sortainer.  The drawers bind up easily when overfilled or if a longer screw gets turned.  Furthermore, They aren't as water tight as the SYS-1 box.  I was working outside and it started raining.  Water got into the Sortainer and rusted a lot of the screws.  I've never had an issue with water in the SYS-1 box.

The other issue is that I can never remember which drawer has which screw in it so I end up opening a bunch to find the right screw.

When I need another one, I will go with the Small Parts Organizer.  It's more flexible, holds more screws/stuff and is easier to manage.

I have multiple sortainers, but I don't use them for screws or nails.  I store all the little parts that don't seem to have a home somewhere else. Nuts, bolts, washers, 23g pins, shelf pins, cotter pins, drywall anchors, screw extractors, scrapers, etc....

Works exceedingly well for those purposes, and with my Brother Label Maker, very organized.

Screws and nails are in my Sys1 compartmented systainers, and easier access for choosing the right size screw or nail. I have sets of them in both purpose dedicated T, and converted interior classic Sys1's.

Cheers,
Frank

I have used the SYS 1 Box for nails/screws/etc however the internal boxes do not give you much scope for customisation. I have now switched to SYS-SB Storage Box and find that I can customise it with whatever size boxes I need and when opened can see all the trays readily unlike the sortainers

The Storage box systainer is much more efficient for screws and similar.  The colored boxes can be ordered separately to customize the interior any way you want. Makes it so much easier to see all sizes and types than using Sortainers for the same purpose.
