I've always used McFeeley's in the past, but that was prior to the founder selling his business.  I believe Lee Valley carries a decent assortment of square drive screws.

Dave R.

I'd just like to add a quick clarification to this.

While it's true that Jim Ray did sell McFeely's in 2007, I've been with the company for over 11 years. I was Jim's General Manager in VA and I'm the Brand Manager (same position essentially) for the company now.

In other words, there has been no change in our outlook when it comes to customer service.

If there's any issue, just contact me. Not only am I actively engaged with my customer service representatives, but I'm open to hearing from you all as well.

I don't want there to be any hidden customer service issues. If we've failed in any way, let me know and I'll get it fixed as quickly as possible. That's the only way I like to do business.

Ron.

I too have not gotten any response on my 2 emails sent to you in the past year.  The last one was on 8/29/08 regarding screw assortments in Systainers.  The only reason I am posting here is because of lack of response to my earlier emails.

Generally though McFeeleys is pretty good about fulfilling web orders.

Sorry

Vijay

Hey Vijay,

I never ignore any emails on purpose. In my defense, however, my company does have a VERY aggressive spam control system and, from time to time, I've had friends tell me "Hey, you didn't respond" to which I could only respond in the manner I am now.

And that's to say I'm sincerely sorry for not answering anyone. Trust me, it's not on purpose. I wish we could go back to the days before email because a phone call is guaranteed a response whereas an email can get lost.

In any case, the number in my signature rings in my office. If I'm quiet, please don't assume it's because I don't want to talk to you because that's never the case. I'm offering everyone my time. Don't trust it to an email. Call me if you can. You will hear from me.

Vijay, if we can, let's talk on Monday. Whatever the message I've missed, I'll get it answered on Monday.

And to all, thanks for the feedback. I'm here for you so let me know when I can help.

I'll just chime in and add that McFeely's and Lee Valley have provided me superior customer service over the past few years.

When I got into Festool a few years ago, I ordered from McFeely's.  My MFT 1080 arrived with a slight ding on the corner.  I too tried to email McFeely's about it, but got no response for a few days.  Then, I email Ron and he responded immediately that it's "Taken care of".  I didn't know what that meant, exactly, but received a complete, brand new MFT a couple days later.  When I inquired about returned the slightly damaged original, I was told "Don't worry about it...keep it for your trouble."

In my experience, McFeely's will solve your problem if you give them the opportunity.

Once I needed a tool fast and called McFeely's. The woman was so nice. She said that I would have to pay taxes even though they were in WI and me in IL. With the quick shipping I  spent an extra 100.00

She offered a different store to order from where I would save tax, but I stuck with McFeely's. Not many companies would refer you to the competition. I had the router the next day. I never had a problem with McFeelys and gladly pay the taxes and shipping knowing the service is great.

I usually get the larger tools with no tax and free ship, but if I am going to pay tax and shipping McFeely's service is well worth it.

Ron has offered to make things right with this.
Thank You Ron,
I just have not had time to call him back.
I will give Mcfeelys another go.

Ted, I haven't called Equality Screw Company myself, but I passed this along to local, who called them, and said that they said that they're an importer, not a manufacturer, and that they're going out of business. So if this guy's report is correct, I doubt that they're McFeely's source.

Equality did assist us with locating a source for a particular line of screws but they were a specialty line of products and in less than 5-6 different choices overall (we're talking less than 20 SKUs to put it into context).

They are very nice folks regardless and I was saddened to learn of their closing as of late.

Oh, very sorry to hear that. They supply in quantity, including to a woodworking school I attend a few times each year, and the owner had said they supply about every seller in the U.S. Looks like I'd better stock up. Thanks for the info.
