Hey guys,

Most of our SPAX screws were put away in the warehouse yesterday so I came in on Sunday to put them up on the web for you all. Here's a link to the overall category -> Click here for SPAX options.

If you all would like, let me know in this thread what assortments you'd like. We have a ton of options already but I'm always interested in your feedback.

Ron--

Just today I was thinking of dropping you a line to ask about the MDF Spax.  Good to see they're in.  I'll be ordering in the next day or two.

How about an MDF assortment--Confirmats and MDF Spax?

Ron, are you putting these in Sortainers also? Fred

Yes, I would like to but the line-up is so wide, I was hoping you all might offer some opinions on what you thought might make a good one.

Ron, I would love to see a Sortainer or two that carried the Clear Zinc Flat Head and Pan Head #6 (1/2" through 2") and the #8 (3/4" through 3") both flathead and pan head. Fred

Thanks, Fred. Sounds like a winner to me too!

Ron, that sounds great. Any idea what something like that would cost? I am assuming 30-40 bucks.  ;) :D ;D Fred

Don't be ridiculous. Sortainer very much included or I think 20-30 bucks. :D Fred

I think I'll just give them away like Al Capone throwing turkeys off of the back of a truck to all the neighborhood kids.  ;)

Does the design of SPAX fasteners + C12 eliminate the need for an impact driver in Europe in certain situations? I was thinking that we focus on the tool and maybe not enough on the fastener as they are both a team in the process of fastening "stuff". Could this be the reason Festool doesn't produce an impact? Or could it be that Festool is really focused more on shop procedures than rugged field usage. For example, would you see a c12 on a construction site as we see Dewalts here? Just a thought.

Good points Mark. I'm guessing European woodworkers are more conscientious about drilling pilot holes. Spax and auger point screw designs have greatly reduced the need for pilot holes.

Most impact drivers are better suited to construction than cabinet work. The Panasonic described above sounds like a useful exception. My 20 year old Hitachi 9.6v single speed (2200 rpm) impact driver works for fine stuff because even the "newest" batteries are tired.  :'(. I use it mostly for fast pilot holes. MY 18v Makita is too powerful but with practice I can park the screw in hardwood using the variable speed trigger. If Festool doesn't make one I'll be looking closely at that Panasonic.

Hi,

How about a build it yourself arrangement.  Pay  X dollars.  for Systainer or Sortainer version with X assortment points.  Pick from however many 100 count screw boxes in various sizes. Each 100 screw box uses X  assortment points.  As long as the quantities are in the 100 count norm for McFeely's I don't think this would make the order filling take much if any more time for the fillers.  Also when a Systainer assortment is purchased are the screws already in the Systainer or are they in cardboard boxes?
Then again someone can pretty much just build there own assortment anyway right out of the standard catalog.  Which leads me to a question- is there a discount or lower cost by buying the premade assortments?
