Specs of Thumb Screws on Parallel Guide Extensions

I need to cut 80 strips of 5/8" MDF 3" wide and 18" long. I got out my Festool Parallel Guide set and the extensions and discovered that during a recent cross-country I had lost/misplaced the two thumbscrews that connect the extensions to the Parallel Guides.

Does anyone have the specifications for the thumbscrews (thread and length)? Or can these be ordered from Festool?

Prabha,

The knob is 6mm(diameter) x 1.0mm(thread pitch) and is 44mm long.
The base of the knob is just over 34mm. I'd think  2-6 x 50 bolts or cap screwsand washers to spread the hold and raise the height so the end does not extend above the nut insert would work fine.

If you have time try festool usa parts and perhaps they can find the  parts for you.

I tried to locate the actual part number for the thumbscrews themselves, but I'm sure due to my inexperience I could not.  However, I did come across a statement that indicated the availability of parts is 10 years.  I would call Festool Service and test that theory.

If you go to the Festool Parts on-line catalog, ekat.festool, then to the "ACCESSORIES" and select "FS-PA USA, you'll find what you need; I believe it is part # 453067, Rotary Knob M6 - this appears to match the connector on my Parallel Guide Extensions.  Hope this helps!

Yeah, don't let anyone fool you, Ekat is NOT that easy to navigate; it's like an old horse I had, you MUST keep insisting and insisting - plugging away, and MAYBE, you'll get the desired result.

Thank you everyone. I did navigate the EKAT site and found the P/N. I will order it tomorrow from Festool service. I was hoping that McMaster Carr would carry something equivalent but no such luck.

Maybe too late now but you can get the stuff for a substitute at McMaster.

Add an ordinary M6 hex nut @ 5mm high and a 1mm washer and you've got the functional equivalent.

On second thought, the wings might spread too wide for clearance.

I also found M6x1x44mL knob screws on Amazon. It's going to take a week to get here so we will see.
