Spraying SW Pro Classic with Fuji MM5 & T70 Setup

I've been reading posts on here for a while and have been getting the itch to get some projects done. Now that I finally got to spend some time in the shop again I realized how much I dislike finishing. That is why I went out and purchased the Fuji.

Could someone please help me out with being able to spray SW Pro Classic without it looking like a hot mess. I'm using a Fuji MM5 with a T70 gun and 3M PPS. I've attempted spraying with both the #3 top (1.3) and the #4 tip (1.5), both thinned with distilled water and straight from the can, after straining it. With all the setups mentioned, it will sputter the paint and spray large droplets (sorry don't know all the terms). Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

Thanks for your input. I'll try to lubricate the needle. I've practiced with water to get a feel for it. I was also able to get the primer to spray on with a nice coat. I'll give the floetrol a shot as well and practice a little more on cardboard. Hopefully one of those two will solve the puzzle for me.

Bill, I'm a newbie too.  I've experienced the same globbiness.  But if it's thinned to the right viscosity and with a dash of Floetrol the globs will smooth out after a few minutes.  Make sure it's not too cold in your shop and use the viscosity cup.  I don't recall the time period without the manual in front of me but IIRC, it's  in the 20-30 second range for latex paint.  It should be about the consistency of butter milk

If you cleaned your gun since spraying the primer, you may have a loose fluid nozzle or assembled the air divider and air diffuser incorrectly. The Air divider has a hole in it and it needs to line up with the dimple in the gun at the top and the pin on the air diffuser needs to insert into the hole on the air divider and lock into the dimple in the gun.
