Doesn't it rather depend on the tasks one has in mind?
If a number of projects are contemplated for which the corner tip of the sander is going to be used heavily and repeatedly, the the RO90's pad (and abrasives) in the shape of a Reuleaux Triangle (that is, an equilateral curvilinear one) with its three-way symmetry could be a factor worth considering. But then so would be the cost of the dedicated abrasives. Also, remember that the pad can also be rotated if the tip gets too worn.
I don't have an RO90, but I tried one at a Festool Roadshow and whilst, yes it is bulky for the pad size, and seemed mostly to require two hands, it was - on first acquaintance - a good deal less unruly than I'd expected.
