I finally moved into a house with a large stubbed out basement so I can put a nice shop together. I will be posting pictures as I go progress but first I need a portable setup to build my permanent fixtures such as a cut table, kapex bench, wood storage, etc, etc, etc. I was going to just use sawhorses but I got this email from Popular Woodworking that had just what I needed. I have build two I-beams using Dominos so I, ahhh I mean any of my friends won't damage blades by accident. I will build the boxes over the next couple of days.
Check out the link to the blog post below. The I-beams are worth building alone and they only take a slightly more than half a sheet of 3/4 ply. I used shop grade birch ply and the feel like I could park a car on them. No flex at all.
I-Beam and Support boxes
Stay tuned for pictures as manage to put things together.
