Prototype: My square at my belt

Couple years back I bought a leather work apron. I was somewhat embarrassed to wear it at first but now this is the first thing this nerd puts on when I go into the shop. I'm lost without it because there is a place for everything. I also use it when using my wood lathe. I see they make these leather pouches now - very tempting: https://calaveratoolworks.com/products/the-maker-pouch-copy
If you use an apron near machinery, just make sure that none of the straps dangle anywhere near the moving parts. Drill presses and lathes seem to be the bigger culprits. A saw will generally just cut through the dangling parts, the spinning spindles can catch and draw you to the moving parts.

It used to be that I’d see news articles about those accidents. Either the accidents stopped or they stopped printing the articles.

The most famous of this type of accident (in a car) was the death of Isadora Duncan, whose long silk scarf got caught in the knock-off hubs of her Buggatti. Not a tool room accident, of course, but demonstrated the power of that type of loose strap.
