I've been looking to add some cordless nailers to my arsenal for a while.  The Milwaukee versions were the natural choice since that is my main battery platform, but there has so much bad press about them -- both here and elsewhere online -- that I didn't want to risk it.  But I also didn't want to add yet another battery platform that I would only be using on a few tools.

Walking down the nailer/fastener aisle today at HD, I had to do a double take on the price they were offering on the Dewalt 16 ga. angled finish nailer kit (including batteries and charger): $249!  They didn't have any left on the shelf, so I ordered a unit online when I got home -- glad I did, because there's an additional $20 off online purchases going on right now, which almost exactly covers the state/city taxes.

I think this offer is HD specific, as it is still listed at well over $300 on other sites I checked.

Good price being that it includes the batteries. Should probably post the Home Depot SKU number.

I've been looking for this, but the deal seems to be dead. Shows $349 when I add to the cart on HomeDepot.com now. The $20 off $100 is also only showing in the bare tool version ($339) for me.

I really don't need any more 20v Dewalt batteries, but for $229 I wouldn't have been able to pass that up.

Yeah, I ended up getting screwed, at least for the moment.  I ordered from 3 separate stores in succession, all of whom listed the gun as in stock on the website, only to receive a follow up message a little later that the order was canceled due to lack of stock.  After the third one I called up Home Depot central to try to work things out.  They initially offered me a bare gun at the same price, but would not throw in the charger/battery as well (though I'm still considering the offer if I can get my hands on a charger and battery pack for free/trade, as I've listed in the classifieds).  In the end, they made a note in the file that when the unit comes back in stock at any of the stores near me, which may be a couple of weeks, I can call up Home Depot central and place the order with them at the reduced price, then pick it up from the store.  That will probably be what ends up happening, it's just that I have a job in the coming weeks that will involve heavy nailer usage, and I didn't want to lug my compressor and pneumatic guns on site.
