I finally jumped off the upgrade train a few years ago. All my stuff is 10 to 15 years old. Vandersteen Quatro's being fed by Audio Research Reference Amp, Preamp and DAC. I am very happy with my setup as is. I am now listening to 50 year old headphones from Koss, ESP9 electrostatics. I really like them a lot.

johnmpf, Sounds very sane. Looking at what some people spend on HIFI is pretty crazy. I'm happy to set up my listening room and home theater and then just enjoy my set up instead of looking at the next big thing. When I did my theater last year I told my local AV shop I want something that sounds good but won't make me cry when my kids knock it over and break it
Here is my final update on this project. It isn't the cabinet itself but the room as a whole got a facelift. I had some screw pops and drywall seams to fix before doing the accent wall so it was days of drywall repair and painting. We thought my drawings could use some framing to make them stand out a bit more and make the living room look more cozy at the same time. Very happy with the results and just in time for the holidays.
