I am planning on getting a sander, and when I asked my "authorized dealer" as to what comes with this sample pack, they didn't have a clue.

I tried calling Festool only to find they are closed.  So why not ask here.

I was looking at getting either a RO125 or the ETS125.  both list the StickFix abrasives sample pack but no detail as to what that really means.    I am left wondering why your site is so vague, or if this is marketing verbiage for it comes with 1 piece of sandpaper??

Matt.

My RO 125 came with:

1 x Saphir 36
3 x Cristal 60
3 x Rubin 80
3 x Rubin 120
3 x Brilliant 2 180
3 x Brilliant 2 220
3 x Brilliant 2 400
1 x Platin 2 2000

I don't know what the ETS comes with.

BTW, the reason I was able to see what came as samples are because they're still in the plastic. All I've been using is Granat.

Both my RO150 and ETS150 came with a similar sample pack.

Matt,

First, I'll answer the question about why it's vague. It's because the sample packs change several times a year sometimes and without warning from Germany. So the quantities of grits and types of included abrasives change. As confirmed in the previous posts, those sanders (5" and 6") generally come with a sample pack containing roughly 20-25 sheets of various grits and types. If I'm not mistaken you're more likely to end up with mostly Granat abrasives in the samples packs now. I've already left the office for the day so I can't confirm the exact list. If you'd like exact details, please let me know and I'll find out for you.

Matt,  About 2 years ago I bought the  same sanders a RO 125 FEQ and a ETS 125 EQ and they each came with a generous sample pack of sanding abrasives,  probably as stated above, 20 -25ea.  A year later I bought 2 more sanders a RS2E and a LG 130.($70 more expensive than the first pr.)  When I got home and open them up to check for goodies it turns out they each had 1 (one) sheet of paper.  I spoke to a Festool employee during a demo at a trade show a week or so after that and he took my name and address and said he would mail me some,  but that's been a year ago this week, and still no sample packs.  So my advise would be to ask your Festool Dealer what is included before your purchase.  A sample pack comes in very handy.  You get a good idea on what variety's you want to purchase.

To be clear, it's the round pad 5" and 6" sanders that include a sample pack. Other sanders come with a sheet or two.

Oh,    didn't know that.  thanks for the offer Shane but I will respectfully pass.  Also,  the RS2E sander is the best money I have ever spent. (for sanding that is, Domino sleeps in the living quarters  [big grin])

So I am to take it that the RO90 that i just bough that says it comes with a sample pack is really not??  I will be very disappointed if that is the case.

The RO90 does come with a very nice assortment, mostly the new Granat.

My RO90 and ETS150-5 came in today.  YAY..  The ETS came with a Rubin/Brilliant sample pack that had 15 pieces of Rubin and 10 of Brilliant2.

The RO90 came with Testset 497526 - Granat 90mm disk  consisting of 1 piece of P40 P60 P80 P120 & P220.  (5 pieces total)  as well as testset 498527 - Granat 93v  consisting of again  P40 P60 P80 P120 & P220.  (5 pieces total).

I am a bit disappointed with  what was given with the RO90 considering that it's a more expensive tool than the ETS150, and the  sanding pads are substantially smaller (thus cost less) yet you get substantially less than what the 6" unit comes with.

Not trying to sound like I am whining but why so much cheaper on the RO90 compared to the ETS150??

Wow, now I am feeling a little disappointed, my ETS 150/3 purchased last weekend only came with 1 each of Rubin 80, 120, 180 and 1 each of Brilliant2 220, 320 so 5 sheets total (no Granat at all). That your ETS-150 came with a 25 sheet sample pack and Shane is saying 20 - 25 is the norm is a bit saddening :(
