I ordered my 24" Omnijig dovetail on April 19 and here it is May 21 and still don't have my jig.  I have lost all faith in Woodcraft and vow never to buy another tool from them.  If it is not in by Tuesday I will get my money back and go to another local store.  I was waiting to make a cabinet for my wife's scrapbooking stamps, ink bottles, and matching pens with the new dovetail jig.

It is nice to know there is companies like Timmy's and uncle Bob's that ships items you purchase in a reasonable amount of time.

Go here:

Omni at Amazon - Free Shipping

You can get this in 24 hours if you want. Some people do not like Amazon, but in five years I have had ZERO complaints.

If you did pay 599.99 I can try to get you a 25.00 coupon if you need it.

I can not find the coupon, but below is the rebate link. I have used CPO many times and so far really good service for me.

You should get the 25.00 rebate and free ship here, only good for two more days I think:

25.00 rebate for omni jig

Thanks Nickao.  That's a double bonus because I will not have to pay sales tax which adds up to a nice savings.

Thats right, I forgot about the tax benefit too. Sorry about Woodcraft. On the internet I have not really had trouble with Woodcraft. I have had trouble in their stores though. They pushed me to the internet in a way.

Good luck, let me know how it works for you. I really like the Akeda jig because of the dust collection. I hear good things about the new Omni though.

The worst part of this deal is when I said I wanted the DT jig they said okay and rang me up.  Then he told me he did not have in stock.  I'm sure Woodcraft as a whole is a good company but the stores are horrible.

In my experince I have had back luck at Woodcraft retail stores too.

It must be hit or miss. Someone here had good service at the Woodcraft store I have had horrible service at time and time again.

Nick,
I am one who is blessed with an outstanding Woodcraft store.

And on-line, this past Monday I ordered a new product from Woodcraft that I saw in their magazine. It haad a part number for it but not yet on their website. It arrived on my door step yesterday - 2 days. Pretty nice service.

I have always had great luck with Woodcraft Online too.

I think the Woodcraft nearest me has a pretty high turnover rate for employees, I rarely see the same person, that may be factor at the retail stores. I think the individual ownership and different owners/managers have an affect on service.

At least Woodcraft  let me test a drum sander a while back and Rockler would not even let me plug it in.

The new PC Omnijig looks really cool!

If it's sellling fast and backordered, Woodcraft might be having a difficult time getting them.  I have actually had more trouble with items being backordered from Rockler than Woodcraft.  I just received an email today from Rockler saying my order had been shipped.  I hadn't placed an order since February and forgot that one of the items was on backorder.

Tom.

Hey Tom my Woodcraft seems to not order products until someone comes in wants one.  I had originally gone to Woodcraft to buy the story stick and they did not even have that, so they ordered it.  Every time I want a new product they have to be ordered.  There is another store 5 miles away and they have had them in stock.

My very first visit with our Woodcraft was horrible, and I swore them off, but it is the only store around that carrys anything for woodworking. I just stick with the people that have helped me, and avoid the one who didn't. I don't know if they are commisioned or not, but if so, that one guy missed out on thousands of dollars in sales.

Porter Cable has had some major problems with this new jig. For one I heard the factory in Vietnam burnt to the ground and caused a huge delay while they rebuilt. After they worked through that issue I further heard of more production delays. I'm sure that if your WoodCraft store took your order they placed it with PC. I would assume though it is back-ordered through the supplier.

Don T, what have your communications with the store told you?

The Dallas Woodcraft has some pretty good guys in it.  Knowledgeable and friendly.  Don't order any Festool from them however. It will take at least a month of Sundays to get it in.  I ordered a couple of small items a year or so ago and it just wasn't worth itl
