I've only heard of this as a method, but never really looked into it. Just recently I've been talking to a neighbour and we've been considering making a couple of dinghies. (2 father and son projects ...)

It's amazing what you can do with a few sheets of ply and some patience ...

If I can ever get my friggin' house finished my ultimate reward is going to be building myself a small sailing dinghy with this method. I spent a couple winters in the shop drooling over Wooden Boat magazines and boat-building books and I think this is the most practical DIY method.
