Storing MFT/3 in damp conditions

Our slowly progressing renovation means that my current "workshop" is about to revert to its original status as our lounge. In practice this means that most of my work will be taking place outside on our patio until our house is complete we eventually get around to building a proper shed.

There isn't an obvious place to store the MFT. Even folded up it is going to be in the way and I'd rather save my back and set-up time from having to fold it and carry it through the house everytime I want to use it. I'm thinking about outside options - perhaps one of those 'bike storage' type mini sheds / large plastic box, or even just a big plastic sheet. Is that a mad idea?

Thanks!

You might consider treating your MFT top with something like Osmo Polyx before exposing it to damp conditions. I think Peter Parfitt does that and it seems like a stellar idea to me.

I have a MFT 600 that's been living on my covered porch for about 9 months now. It doesn't seem to have suffered any. I bought it used, but shellaced the top on both sides when I got it a couple of years ago. I keep a sheet of plastic over it to keep any wind-driven rain off of it. I used shellac because that was convenient at the time.

Storing an MFT outside isn't ideal, but not the end of the world, I think, if you give it some sort of protection.
