storing your CT

I have a CT 22 and I have a question about storing it in a cabinet while it is turned on.

I had a extra cabinet not being used so I put a plywood top on it and use it for my KAPEX.  Now, I have a small shop in my 1 car garage.  As you all know between the power cord for the CT, the Kapex and having the hose from the kapex to the CT it creates a little bit of a mess in a small shop.  So I cut a hole in the countertop and transfered the power cord from the Kapex and the hose to inside the cabinet where I now store the CT.  I cut a hole on the side of the cabinet so the power cord from the CT can be hooked up.  I did all this so I wouldn't have a lot of hoses and cords everywhere.  I also cut a hole in the door so that I could connect another hose to the CT when using other tools.  The CT sits inside of the cabinet with the front of the CT facing one of the cabinet sides.  The CT has vent holes on both sides.  My question is, since 1 side of the vents on the CT will not be exposed to clean air, will this be a problem for the CT?

I think it would depend on how much air space you in the cabinet. Could you remove the back, or part of it, from the cabinet to allow more airflow? Or maybe cut air holes in the side of the cabinet.

You think if I contact festool they would know the answer?  I gotta call them anyway to get some replacement parts for my Kapex i've have for 3 weeks.

I think they'll be be able to give you an answer, it might be a conservative answer though. As for your Kapex, I believe you are calling about the table inserts that have warped, I know Festool was sending out replacements but I'm not sure that solves the problem all of the time. I'd recommend making your own zero clearance inserts out of plywood or MDF. The zero clearance inserts are better functioning and won't warp.
